Today we celebrate the life and witness of St. Maximilian Kolbe, a Franciscan priest from Poland whose courage and deep love for God continue to inspire the Church. Known for his devotion to Our Lady and his missionary work in Poland and Japan, St. Maximilian’s ultimate act of sacrifice came in 1941 at Auschwitz, where he offered his life in place of another prisoner. His story challenges us to love selflessly, stand firm in faith, and bring hope to others even in the darkest of places. St. Maximilian Kolbe… pray for us.
