The Church honours Mary’s name because it reflects her deep faith, her “yes” to God, and her role as the Mother of the Church. Just as we show respect when calling our parents “mom” or “dad,” so too we show love and reverence when we say the name of Mary—whether we call her Mary, Mama Mary, or Mother.
